Here are some questions that people ask about Tube laser Cutting
1. What is Tube Laser?
A Tube Laser is a Laser cutting machine that cuts using Laser technology the metal profiles (or shapes) such as Square tubing, Angle, Round tubing, channel and more. The Machine feeds the steel/ aluminum/ stainless/copper into the laser cutting head and cuts the the metal by following a CNC program . The software program calculates how many holes, slots and unique vector based shapes out of the material.

How Much does a Tube Laser cost?
That is a very big question. You get what you pay for: meaning that the more you pay, the more bells and whistles you will get. Support and tech help cost a lot of money. The German machines cost from $1.5 million to $3 Million each depending on size and capabilities and if there is an auto-feed attachment., install expenses, shipping, foundation modifications, warranties, insurance and more...
The Chinese and Turkish machines cost a lot less money but the tech support is limited compared to the German made machines. The Chinese machines start around $200,000 for the smaller ones and get more expensive as you add accessories.
Both machines do the same thing in the end... but... there is more work on the machine operator to keep the accuracy and quality high enough to match the German machines.

Can you Mix Tube Laser and Flat laser parts in an assembly?
Yes, You can align flat laser parts on top of pre-designed holes and slots in the Tube design. An experienced Tube laser designer is capable of doing such layouts. We often use Rivet nuts in the tube frame and align the flat laser part on top and bolt it down. The tube lase is accurate up to .001 of an inch.

What kind of software do you need to cut the Tube parts?
The machine manufacturers have their own proprietary software that talks to the machine and allows it to cut the parts. The real answer is that a CAD (Computer aided Design Software) like Solid-works or Auto-cad will work just fine. Here lies the problem.... You need to have a plug-in or have pre-made profiles to create the actual Tube files for your assemblies. Most Tube Laser cut vendors will offer the service to modify your cad drawing into their system. This can be expensive but a necessity if you want your parts cut. TubeLaser.net will create or modify your existing files to be cut. We are a development company that will create or modify your designs.
